RSS News Ends Support for IE6

July 6th, 2008 - Posted By Newsman - Comments (0)

Starting on the 1st of July 2008, I have decided to end support for IE6. In order to continue using RSS News, users are advised to upgrade their browser to one of the following:

Internet Explorer 6 is the last generation of useable browsers. A lot of developers (and I do mean a lot!) have been quite frustrated with the way IE6 renders CSS, Javascript, and (x)HTML, including myself. Modern browsers provide a better functionality and online experience.

RSS News is also a proud supporter of SaveTheDevelopers.org

The following is an excerpt of the current campaign:

Say No To IE 6!

Our current campaign focuses on assisting users in upgrading their Internet Explorer 6 web browser. This campaign will result in former IE 6 users having a more enjoyable experience on the web while (hopefully) creating a less stressful and complicated environment for web developers by hastening the retirement of an outdated browser.

So, for you who still stick to IE6, it’s time to get an upgrade of your browser. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! :)

More Updates v2

Yes, another update. This time I have added three more sections to make up more content on the site. Here is the summary:

If you find anything missing that I should add, feel free to leave your comment and let me know.

More Updates

March 22nd, 2008 - Posted By Newsman - Comments (0)

After nearly two months of inactivity, I am now back to update the site with more contents. The site is nearly complete after I finished with Business, Technology, Science, Entertainment, and Health sections.

The next major page will be the Blogs section where news from various major blog sites around the net will be featured here.

Updated National News Page

January 6th, 2008 - Posted By Newsman - Comments (0)

Finally, I managed to populate National section page viagra relevant content in it. Basically, this page mainly contains Australian news, current affairs, and some local or state news. Most of the news sources are taken from Australian leading media provider, like Fairfax Digital and News Digital Media (a News Corp company). Some of the news headlines are directly related to a certain state. For example:

  • Adelaide Now (Adelaide, SA)
  • The Australian (Sydney, NSW)
  • Courier Mail (Brisbane, QLD)
  • Daily Telegraph (Sydney, NSW and Canberra, ACT)
  • Herald Sun (Melbourne, VIC)
  • The Mercury (Hobart, TAS)
  • Perth Now (Perth, WA)

Unfortunately, there is no major news photo site for Australia content. I found Yahoo! News Australia with the Photo section in it without any RSS link to the images. :(

Welcome to RSS Journal

January 1st, 2008 - Posted By Newsman - Comment (1)

After weeks of hard work, RSS News is finally running. So what is this site all about? It is a news aggregator where it pulls various news feeds from different sources across the web and displays it in one place. The content can be interesting blogs, world affairs, web buzz, unknown facts, useful tips, funny pictures, weird videos, humorous podcast, you name it! Most importantly, they are all fresh contents, so whenever you view our site, we always present you with new material for you to digest.

The whole idea comes from the masterpiece site, popurls.com. All credit should go to the author, Thomas Marban, who invented this great website.

Our site is currently still far from complete, however the core components have been finished. Feel free to leave any idea or comments via this blog. We love delivering fresh news to your computer, so stick with us for any new development.
